Dow Chemical CEO to Speak at Concord College Fundraiser


The Concord College Foundation, Inc. is hosting the second annual Fund for Concord College Dinner Thursday, October 26th, 2000 at Embassy Suites in Charleston, W.Va.

Michael D. Parker, CEO and president of The Dow Chemical Company will serve as the guest speaker and honorary chair of this year’s fundraiser. Mr. Parker was elected to the Dow Board of Directors in July 1995 and serves on the Finance and Environment, Health, Safety and Public Policy Committees. His background includes positions in international marketing, commerce, and product development. He received a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from The University of Manchester (England) and an MBA from the Manchester Business School.

Dow’s CEO and President, Michael Parker was quoted as saying:

It is anticipated that the merger between Dow Chemical and Union Carbide will clear regulatory hurdles sometime in the fourth quarter of this year.
