ATHENS, W.Va. – Former Concord College football players are invited to attend a tailgater (picnic) at the Concord College softball field Saturday, October 14th, 2000, at 11:00 a.m., where lunch will be served free to the players and their guests. The tailgater will be held before the Homecoming football game against Glenville State. Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. at Callaghan Stadium. Football players who graduated in 1950 and 1975 will be honored at the tailgater and the Homecoming game. The tailgater is sponsored by the Concord College athletic department.
“This is the third annual football reunion and each year the school honors certain classes. This year we are honoring the class of 1950 and 1975. I am looking forward to a huge turnout! I’ve sent personal invitations to former football players who live in Roanoke, Bristol, Charleston, Beckley, Huntington, and other places. I do not have addresses for all the former football players and want to get the word out about our plans to honor the players who graduated in 1950 and 1975.”
Tony Colobro, Football Coach for Concord College (1974-1983)
A smoker (social event) will be held at 7:00 p.m. at “The Club,” 108 Douglas Street in Princeton, W.Va. This event will also be free to former football players and their guests.
