ATHENS, W.Va. – The Athens-Concord Town Social was held Sunday, August 13, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the front lawn of Concord College. ARAMARK, the College’s food service provider grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and barbecues and prepared all the fixin’s for the afternoon picnic.
Entertainers Across the Miles, Ed Hartman and The Homeless Band performed for guests as rain clouds stayed away much to the guest’s pleasure. According to Jean Beasley, committee member:
“It has rained before the event and after the event, but never at the event. This is our 14th year for holding the town social and we have been fortunate to have great weather every year.”
Jean Beasley
