ATHENS, W.Va. – Bell Atlantic Area Manager Michael P. Newman made a contribution of $2,750 on July 12th, 2000 to support Concord College scholars majoring in education and business administration.
“This is Bell Atlantic’s way of giving back to our community. Students who get a college education will be better citizens, better customers and better employees.”
Michael P. Newman
Bell Atlantic has been supporting students at Concord since 1985.
The scholarships are awarded to juniors and are renewable as long as the scholarship criteria continue to be met.
“We are grateful to Bell Atlantic for its continued support of Concord students. Although Concord’s main campus is not located in their Bell Atlantic service area, we serve students from throughout the service area. Our Beckley program, which is in the Bell Atlantic region, enrolls over 700 students.”
J. Douglas Machesney, Vice President for Development
